Terms of Service

Effective July 13, 2026

These terms govern your use of the Twitch Flags website, flag registry, and public API. Please read them before using the service.

Acceptance

By accessing or using Twitch Flags, you agree to these Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

Eligibility

You may use Twitch Flags only if you can legally agree to these terms where you live. You must also comply with Twitch’s terms and any other rules that apply to your Twitch account.

The service

Twitch Flags is a public Twitch user ID-to-flag registry. An authenticated Twitch user can select a country or territory flag, and supported clients can retrieve that public association through the API. A selected flag is a user-provided preference and is not verification of citizenship, nationality, residence, or identity.

Your responsibilities

You are responsible for:

  • the flag you choose and the public association it creates;
  • using the service only through a Twitch account you are authorized to access;
  • keeping your Twitch account secure; and
  • complying with applicable laws, Twitch’s rules, and these terms.

Do not use a flag selection to impersonate someone, misrepresent another person’s identity, or make a deceptive claim.

Acceptable use

You must not:

  • use Twitch Flags for unlawful, fraudulent, or abusive activity;
  • interfere with, overload, disrupt, or damage the service;
  • attempt unauthorized access to accounts, systems, or data;
  • circumvent rate limits, security controls, or access restrictions;
  • introduce malicious code or probe the service without authorization; or
  • use automation in a deceptive way or in a way that unreasonably burdens the API.

Public API

The public API is provided for compatible clients and integrations. API consumers must respect documented caching behavior, rate limits, applicable law, and these terms. Endpoints, response formats, cache rules, or access limits may change as the service evolves. Access may be limited or blocked to protect Twitch Flags and its users.

Third-party services

Twitch Flags depends on third-party services, including Twitch, Upstash, Arcjet, and a hosting provider. Their services are governed by their own terms and may change or become unavailable. Twitch Flags is an independent service and is not endorsed by, sponsored by, or affiliated with Twitch.

Intellectual property

The operator retains rights in the Twitch Flags service, branding, and original site content. Twitch, country or territory symbols, Twemoji graphics, and other third-party names, marks, or assets remain the property of their respective owners and may be subject to separate licenses.

These terms do not grant you ownership of Twitch Flags or permission to use third-party marks beyond what their owners allow.

Changes, suspension, and termination

Twitch Flags may add, remove, or change features and may suspend or discontinue some or all of the service. Access may be restricted or terminated when reasonably necessary to address misuse, legal obligations, security risk, operational needs, or violations of these terms.

You may stop using Twitch Flags at any time. You can remove your flag through the flag manager and sign out to end your active session.

Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Twitch Flags is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. The operator does not guarantee that the service will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, accurate, or compatible with every client.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits, goodwill, or business opportunities arising from or related to your use of, or inability to use, Twitch Flags or a third-party service.

Some places do not allow certain warranty exclusions or liability limitations, so some of these terms may not apply to you.

Indemnity

To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to defend and indemnify the operator against third-party claims, losses, and reasonable costs resulting from your unlawful misuse of Twitch Flags or your material violation of these terms.

General terms

These terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement about your use of Twitch Flags. If a provision cannot be enforced, it will be limited or removed only as much as necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue to apply. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of the right to enforce it later.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated as Twitch Flags evolves. Material changes will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. Your continued use after updated terms take effect means you accept them for your later use of the service.
